Well your list includes "artificial limbs" and when you go to war you end up needing some of those sooner or later.
So really this is kind of a "the chicken or egg" argument

Or we could just lift the bans on drilling in America. We don’t need to spend an outrageous amount of money on world babysitting and nation building to insure that we have our fuel.

No, but you make a darn good case for stepping up our domestic drilling.

Now you are actually trying to justify going to war to take the resources of other countries. I can’t support that. I think it is unethical and immoral. Worse yet, I deplore and oppose lying about the reason. When George H.W. Bush honestly stated that a basis for the 1st Gulf War was oil, he could also justify the action because Iraq had invaded Kuwait.

If you can’t bargain for the resources that you need then use an intermediary. Do what you have to do in order to avoid killing people and destroying countries.

Japan attacked us because we stopped selling them oil and they were afraid of US interference in their quest for oil in the East Indies. They bombed our Pacific fleet in order to try to prevent that interference.

Don’t tell me that you would actually defend and justify the attack on Pearl Harbor based on Japan’s need for oil. Your morality must have some parameters.

I’d be willing to go to war for Cortisone and KY Jelly.

Many of the petroleum ingredients in these products could be replaced with other types of ingredients that are renewable resources. No one has a right to go to war to take things from other people by force that belong to them.

Do you think it would be ok for someone to break into your house and rob you just because you have money and they don’t? I think most people would agree that if someone has something you want, you either need to earn or create whatever it is that you want yourself, trade it for something you have that they want or go without.

The vast oil reserves that we had in our country have been squandered and wasted never to be replaced. The reserves believed to remain wouldn’t satisfy our thirst for oil for more than a few years.

If we moved foward to using alternatives to petroleum everywhere we can as quickly as possible and worked on developing new technology from renewable resources, no one would be dying for oil. But instead of moving forward with an intelligent energy policy, the oil companies have blocked it to keep their own profits flowing through the members of congress they have purchased with the money they pour into our elections.
