What is the best way to clean/polish a motorcycle?

I just got a new Ninja, I love it and I plan on keeping it in my family for a very long time. What is the best/cheapest way to clean/polish a motorcycle without wearing away/scratching the paint/finish?

I use S100 spray on wash followed by the Mr Clean car wash system.They i dry and wax with microfiber cloths.My paint job is 6 years old and still looks great.
