I am trying to find the reflectivity of polished stainless steel at 172 nm. A specific figure for absorption or reflectivity at this wavelength would be helpful, although a graph showing reflectivity or absorption across a wider spectrum would be best. Please supply a link to any supporting data, if possible. Thank you in advance for your help!

These are cause mainly from splash of water stains. They leave spots on my stainless fridge. I tried stainless steel polishes and nothing seems to get rid of the spots. How can I bring my fridge back to show room luster like new again?

Stainless steel does not rust, if your fridge is stainless all you need to do is wash it with a soapy liquid and water, then dont let the water dry, dry it just after washing But give it a good rub with a towel initially then a softer cloth. what you are seeing is not rust but oxidisation through leaving water to dry on a metal surface it does surface stain and slightly tarnish but washing and drying will polish it up ok….Good luck

No matter what I have tried to clean them the smudges, streaks & marks are still visible.
I have tried windex, stainless steel polish or just plain soap & water & nothing works. You can still see the smudges, finger prints & streaks.

The oil soap and stainless steel cleaners are your best bet but the most important thing is to always wipe with the grain of the metal. No circles or erratic motion. Use a soft cloth with whatever cleaner you use and always wipe in a single direction with the grain.
