I have a very old semi-truck and the tanks are in great structural condition, they just need some TLC. I have started with an acid wash and then a round with Mother’s Brand chrome polish and a buffer, but they still don’t have a finished look to them. They almost look as if the dirty polish is down in the scratches. What would you suggest?
Keep polishing until the scratches are gone. This may take a very long time. Then wipe of the tanks with a clean dry towel and flour. the flour will help to remove any polish residue left behind.
