Using the rubber tubing as a sleeve sounds good, if things get caught up it will slip around. =)

Awesome stuff Thomas. I think if you use a cordless drill you can put the torque setting on the lowest setting, so that if something does get caught up, it won’t tear your finger off. It’ll only allow you to hold it so tight before the torque setting stops it from twisting.
The other thing I thought is that if you get a piece of rubber tubing that fits the diameter of the bolt, you might be able to use it as a coupler. If something gets caught up it’ll just twist off.
