I’ve used this same …
I’ve used this same stuff, using a hand drill at low speed with the polishing wheel attached, and it works well. PLEASE NOTE: if your headlight is completely clouded over and yellowed, this stuff won’t work, as the plastic is ruined through and through.

this doesn’t …
this doesn’t take the paint off. you just told everyone to take extra precaution over a task that is a piece of cake.

Yes, you’ll need to …
Yes, you’ll need to repeat this every time the headlamp lense becomes cloudy. Polycarbonate lenses of any age that become cloudy will all need attention periodically.

Is it uncommon to repeat this several times on an older car? (1995) Very dingy!

Yeah, totally agree. I do now, just didn’t occur to me at the time. Great and very simple suggestion, thanks.

Meguiar’s. They have the Plastic Polish and the Applicator Pads. I think there are other brands out there, it’s just I haven’t used them. Thanks for watching.

Nah, it won’t ‘eat’ …
Nah, it won’t ‘eat’ through paint, there’s just a bit too scratchy for duco. There’s a chance of scratching the clear coat. Remove the lamp? no, too much work when all you’ve got to do is just be careful, besides, the discolouration doesn’t ususally extend to the edge of the lense. Thanks for the comment.
