It's a small scratch.
If it's a brushed steel finish, use a ScotchBrite pad in the same direction as the steel grain. If you want mirror polished, use Testor's sanding films and go slow as you go through the grits. After the 600 grit, red rouge polishing compound on a cloth or felt wheel.

depending on how bad the scrach is you could use a high speed buffer
